I've been wanting to get some more finished pieces into my gallery, here's a good start i'd say XD

continually getting stuck in places, but, i'm getting there. almost done! i can feel it!
I should really get some references before i start something like this next time :D

guess what movie I've been watching!
bought the Art Of: book.

just dabbling in some Toothless sketches, and misc fanart.
Nico Marlet's visual development on that movie, particularly his character sketches for Toothless blow me away.

been a while since i uploaded a piece.
after all the studies i've done, thought i should try and do something for myself.

originally from a sketch piddled with my DS Lite,
thought it looked kind good.
kind of went over board on the rendering.

gotten sick of working on it for so long; ran into too many hurdles as well.
but that's what helps me learn, did my best to hurdle them XD.

tried something different in a lot of places, those were the funnest.

I realize there's lots wrong with it:
composition is crap,
some colors are off,
shading is out of whack,
etc.

just been drum'n away at it.
so much to change 8[
some might recognize the dude, others may not.
regardless, s'good to do a drawing of 'em again.
we'll see how far this one gets.

long time no update;
here's another study.
CD's have been working on environments for a bit,
here's my 2 cents.

I tried to see how far i could get in this one in a limited amount of time.
tried to keep it within a single CD broadcast.

Been absent from the blog,
but i've been keeping myself occupied artistically speaking.
I have two more Color studies that i'm not sure about yet.
the Lightness of them i think i accomplished well enough, but something still about the shading and the values, bothers me a teeny bit.

another color study i started with Dave Rapoza and the Crimson Daggers.
wasn't able to work on it as distractless as i wished; I had to rush to work, forgetting what time it was.
finished it this evening after i got home though.
total time spent i'd say is around 1hr 15m.

i'm loving the birds :3

Too young of a blog for anyone to notice, but...new post, after being dormant for a while.
Crimson Daggers color study i did with Dave Rapoza
I'll be doing my best to partake in the studies as often as i can, work schedule is sometimes finicky with it.
regardless, this felt really good to paint, even if I think there's lots of things wrong with it.
that's part of growing as an artist i guess.
I hadn't done much painting, drawing, illustrating leading up to this...
but something in me lately has been...igniting.
I think the Inferiority complex about my own art is beginning to sputter,
being drowned out by all the awesome artwork i've been actively seeking out,
and all the awesome artists and friends i've been making.

Here's a few random sketches and doodles that i've been working on over the past while.
thought it'd be a good post to start the blog off with.

put a painting program onto my nintendo DS, thought it worth a try, here some warm ups

took the bottom painting and started fleshing it out more for a COW attempt. still a WIP.

fleshing out a character sketch from an idea i 've been toiling over for a while.
with a few other misc sketches around the canvas as they came to mind while in front of the computer.

And last but not least, here's a few quick sketches for COW ideas.
I have yet to render any of these things out fully, but for these i was more interested in being able to come up with multiple ideas, instead of fleshing them out.
i'll definitely be coming back to these shortly.
